After breakfast we set off to explore Milan, which we have been to before and it's a lovely city. We wanted to see Da Vinci's The Last Supper, but the church where it's located wasn't open today. So we walked to the Duomo and the Galleria shopping complex which is very classy. Both Ferrari and Mercedes have stores there, as well as most of the big name brands.
From there we walked around, just taking in the ambience and checking out some of the great shops we passed. We were surprised how few people were in town, and from talking to some of the shop keepers it's the quiet time as most people go on holidays and get out of town.
In the little restaurant where we had dinner we met a lovely young Aussie couple, Marcus and Tory from South Australia, and we enjoyed chatting to them.
