Anotherly leisurely breakfast by the pool, then we caught the bus to Victoria and transferred to the bus to Xlendi. This is a small fishing village which is now very popular with tourists, as it has a beautiful bay for swimming and snorkeling, and lots of scuba divers come here because of the safe conditions and clear water.
We walked along the made path where there were benches to sit or sunbake on, and steps leading to the water's edge where there were a number of ladders for accessing the water. After checking out the area I couldn't resist any longer and took the plunge - it was cooler than I expected but once I got used to the water it was a great place for a swim.
We lunched at a restaurant by the waterfront, and then checked out the few shops around the couple of streets that make up this village. I decided to join the snorkelers and bought a mask and snorkel, and then put them to good use! The water is so clear and there were plenty of good size fish swimming about, so I was happy with my purchase!
Back at the Rigiana we found some more guests had arrived - the owners sister from Switzerland and 2 Australian girls from Tasmania. We had another swim in the pool, and then enjoyed drinks and nibbles around the pool chatting with them all. This is the life!!
