Madrid - Day 5

Wednesday, September 14

After another good nights sleep followed by another visit to the Internet cafe, we decided to have a quiet day - a "land" day instead of a "sea" day! As we were looking for our luncheon spot around Santa Dominion Square, a lady was handing out brochures to her restaurant down a quiet street off  the square, and after looking at the menu we decided to go there. It was a good choice. Returning to our apartment after lunch for our siesta we told the lady how much we enjoyed the meal. She was very happy and gave us a hug and a kiss as we said adios!

We set out again later in the afternoon for our stroll down towards the Royal Theatre and then past the Royal Palace, before walking past Plaza Mayor again. It's going to be lively in Madrid tonight as a EUFA Cup soccer match is being played here. The local football team Real Madrid won this cup 2 years ago, and we happened to see it in the club's shop as we walked past it on one of the streets we were walking along. It should be a good match so we will watch it on TV, even though there is no English channel, but the Spanish commentators are very excitable and fun to listen to.
